GRE Subject Test score reports?

I am taking the General GRE on Tuesday and the GRE English Lit subject test in Oct. Both tests come with 4 free score reports. My question: will my general GRE scores be included with the 4 free score reports on the subject test? For instance, if I send 4 sets of general GRE scores to 4 schools that only require the general test, and then send the subject scores to 4 schools that do require the subject test, will I be set with all 8 schools? Or would I have to pay twice to send the general and the subject scores to the schools that require the subject? Will the General GRE scores get to schools in time if I take the subject test in Oct? Would I be better off to go ahead and send in my general gre scores to all schools earlier to make sure they get there?

I am trying to limit my score report costs. Basically I want to know if I can get all my scores needed to 8 different schools (4 that require the subject, 4 that don't) without paying more than the cost of the 2 tests.

Erm, you are asking for the sky.. the general gre will be sent to 4 schools for free. You have to pay for it to be sent to the other 4 schools. The subject test fee only covers sending the subject test report to four schools. It doesn't cover the general gre report. You essentially have to pay for the two tests and for 4 reports of the general gre.

If you were to take the subject gre in oct, it takes 6 weeks for the report to be sent out and say another week to reach the colleges. Check if that meets your deadlines. My advice would be to send in your gre scores as soon as you can.,

Wreckofthehope is right. The Subject Test scores can include your score from the General Test (as well as any previous test scores, if applicable). The real challenge is committing to schools so early in the process. I had to send a few extra reports because my list changed after I took the test.

If I wait to send both general and subject scores using the free score reports on the Oct 15 subject test, would this cut it too close for Dec 1st deadlines? I know schools are somewhat lenient with the subject test considering it is only offered in Oct and Nov. But would it be unwise to sit on my general gre scores until then to save some money? Would schools get my scores in time if I take the test Oct 15?
