I'm currently looking for chem or biochem programs and I have to say my GPA has made me feel a bit...lacking in confidence. Right now, it's hovering a little lower than a 2.8 and I doubt it can be brought up significantly during my senior year. HOWEVER, I have plenty of research experience in a wide range of disciplines, and though I haven't taken the GRE yet (I will in August) I'm fairly sure I'll do decently. Are there any particular programs that have been known to turn somewhat of a blind eye towards GPAs, or am I, quite honestly, screwed?

You might be screwed. Here's the deal a wide range of disciplines won't help you either. You should really have keyed in on specifically what you're interested in and try to get as much experience in that area as you can. My final undergrad GPA was a 2.9, then I went to industry and worked in a very closely related field. THEN, I applied to grad school. Still got a lot of rejections but I did get into 2 schools that I'm very happy with and will be attending an ivy in the fall to work for an advisor I couldn't be more excited about.

Also don't do a PhD just because you got into one. If you work for a 'budget' advisor no one will hire you.

tl:dr: More research/publications especially in the field you're looking towards.
