NDSEG Tips?

Hi!

I'm applying for the NDSEG Fellowship and looking for any hints from sucessful applicants! I'm applying in Biosciences- currently a first year Microbiology PhD. I was wondering if anyone has specific advice about things they're looking for in the essay and application as a whole.

Any specific weird things to know about, analagous to NSF's "broader impacts" ? Links to sucessful essays? Tips for a beweildered biologist? :shock:

I was just going to ask this question too. I have an additional question to add. How much detail should you add in regards to your specific research project? I am trying to figure out the best way to add my NSF PS and proposal into one essay that is less than two pages.
