santosh66 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Hi, I applied for an Msc in Microelectronics at University of Liverpool. I had no hope of getting in as I had applied quite late. I applied mainly as I was lured by an R&D intern opportunity. As I had no hope in getting through, I started preparation for GRE. I am writing it this September. But, to my surprise I got the admit from the University. Also, I got a promotion at the place where I work, to make matters more complicated. Now the decision that I have to make is whether to go to Liverpool this year or defer my admit, save money and apply for a US grad school next year. Any suggestions regarding this?
Normal Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I'm in the exact same position! I just got into a grad programme in the UK that I applied very late to but just heard today that I've been admitted. I also just started a new job and a certificate programme (I didn't want to continue my life under the assumption that I would get in and not have anything else going on if I was denied, especially as the entry requirements were for a better undergraduate performance than I had my first couple years of undergraduate). I'm debating accepting this year, or deferring and applying to a couple US schools as well (although none of them have the programmes that this school has - it's exactly what I'm looking for). I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what people recommend!
Mojtaba Shahvali Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Go for it Decaf. It is exactly what you are looking for! US is smashed up now and I don't think it is going to be any better SOON!
