blankets Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Hey, just a quick question for the forum. In applying to PhD programs which types of internships will benefit your application in any meaningful way. I'm thinking here of internships at: think tanks, academic journals, NGOs, govt. bodies, editorial/journalism, etc. Anyone have Search Committee level insight on this? Thanks
alphazeta Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 What I've been told by faculty: None will matter much - certainly not as much as a bump to GPA or GRE. There may be a marginal impact for internships that are research intensive and directly related to your proposed course of study.
