avee Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Brown is Ivy League. Brown has a decent Sociology program. Are you applying? Do you have reservations? I notice it's a demographer's dream avee 1
SocHope Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I looked into the program because I specifically want to apply to schools that are strong in both sociology and demography. However, Brown doesn't seem to have a lot going on in terms of migration/immigration, which is my main area of interest. They do have a lot in health and development though, and because of the latter, I'm still debating whether or not to apply. UPenn is probably my current top choice though.
doberman Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 if you are interested in demography, you should apply u penn and penn state university. especially for penn state university, almost all the faculty members are working on this issue. they also offer joint degree with demography upon you phd application ( u penn also offers joint degree with demography by the end of your first year)
