Question for the Engineers (woot!)

I'm writing an engineering conference paper right now.

Is it normal to cite the sensors you use? (Like I bought specific sensors and attached them to a robot.) If so, how do you cite it? (Website style? Patent style?)

I think I usually see stuff like that listed in the Methods section of the paper.

Probably too late, but in my area we just mention the brand name in parentheses, usually in the methods section. E.g. "The Roadrunner entrapment device was loaded with three sticks of dynamite (Acme Co) and several pounds of nails (Economy Hardware)."
