a question about telling research project in the SOP

do we need to tell exactly a research project?

i mean, if i say, i want to work on the dynamism of sexuality... give some examples.. is this enough?

or should i tell exactly, specifically the dissertation topic? this option is not logical. because it is due to change...

i wrote about a researcj project i made up in my mind. it is not even interesting to me!!! i do not exactly want to work on it!! but i wrote it for the only reason that i wanted to look like i even know my phd dissertation subject, title exactly.

help please.

I'd like to add to this, but for an MA program SOP. How much should you really get into your area of interest for an MA?

indeed i apply ma+phd joint degrees. but i will try to find my way...

i think i should not propose exactly a dissertation in my sop for ph.d. instead i can talk about my research questions and with which methodology i will answer them... i will also read some more sample sops...
