So Yale and Harvard have their graduate applications up and running, but Brown and Princeton have repeatedly pushed the date back. Brown first said the application would be available September 1st, then September 19th, and now it says October 1st. Stanford said the application would be up in mid-September, but now that it's almost the 22nd, it's starting to seem like they're running a little late, too. Don't they have teams of IT people they pay ridiculous amounts of money to take care of this every year? Don't we pay between $75 and $125 just to apply? What other product or service would you pay that much for, just to get excuses every couple of weeks about why it's not ready? Sorry, the opening date is actually totally inconsequential, I just want to get the app over with as soon as possible, and in the meantime, I find it odd that a half dozen of the top billionaire universities in the country can't seem to get a simple online application up lol. I would expect this from European universities, which have no money and follow European logic as far as the function of deadlines (which are considered more like guidelines, actually.) Columbia should be up sometime this fall (?), any other applications up that y'all know about?

I've been able to start on my Yale and Duke applications, but like you, I'm annoyed at Brown's delay. The SNRE department at Michigan won't be opening their application until mid-October, which seems awfully late for a large public institution and a large program.

It's not a big deal -- though it's nice to get things started and fill out the boring information early.

SNRE isn't through the Rackham Graduate School? Odd.

Even though the Ford School is its own school, it uses the Rackham application, so that's been up and running for a couple weeks.

Princeton I'm particularly disappointed in, because I had repeated assurances that it would be up around September 20. I'm currently out in the boonies in Nepal so trying to get adequate internet coverage to work on applications isn't so easy. I've submitted all the rest, and so it's kind of unsatisfactory that the best-resourced school I'm applying to is the one with problems.

I hear you folks. I have been waiting and waiting for Stanford app to be up as I want to register my referees to all the universities at the same so that they would get a batch email and won't get lost trying to find all the emails from the 8 schools I am applying to.

Also, it is a reminder to keep your expectations low even if you get into the most amazing school. I mean, they can't even get their application running in due time. I go to a top 5 aerospace undergrad program, and the most famous professors are the shittiest teachers.
