socialhunts Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Hello In the application page for each school, they ask you: do you apply for other schools in the same time? what are they? How do you answer this question? In your opinion, why do they ask this question? Thank you very much. I do appreciate it.
gellert Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Definitely answer. They ask because they want to see how good a fit you REALLY are for their school. Are you applying to them quite clearly as a back-up? Are you applying to schools with similar program philosophies and faculty with research interests similar to your POI at their school? Use this as another opportunity to sell your app. Carefully select a few schools that are very similar to this program in philosophy and in faculty research interests. It'll show them you're focused and know what you want, and are serious about applying to their program. orst11 1
Eigen Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Answer, and answer honestly. If you've selected your schools well, there's no reason to hide it. Not to mention, most applications have you certify that the application is complete and correct- including the section on what other schools you've applied to. While the chance of it becoming an issue is slim, why take the risk?
