Jeff1 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Hi all, I'm deciding whether to apply to Columbia Teachers College's Summer INSTEP program or their traditional academic-year program (both for the teaching of English). Is there a discrepancy between the two as far as admission rates/accepted students per year goes? I'd greatly prefer the INSTEP program, as I could work and go to grad school over the summer (I'm a teacher). Columbia only allows you to apply to one program at a time, and if INSTEP passed on me, I wouldn't want to have missed out on a much more likely option in the academic-year program. For what it's worth, my GRE scores were v770/q740/a5.5, 3.8 BA in English from a top-tier liberal arts, 1 year experience teaching. Any thoughts as to the difference between the two, or on any experiences anyone has had from either program, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
