pratima Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 we are working on bending of tracks when a car moves on hills and valleys, the headlight of car goes with the movement of car but not bend with the curve it follows, so how it can be possible to make headlight which follow the path of movement of car?? please give your suggestion about it. ah233 and Eigen 2
Zachary Epstein Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Interesting idea. If you want the headlight to bend with the curve that follows, you'd need to turn the light source itself. Unfortunately, you're not going to be able to bend the light itself from your car.. you can at least hope to have the light source pointing in the right direction. One could consider associating the light source's orientation with the degree of turn in the front wheels (or steering wheel), though this might not correlate as nicely as you'd like with the direction of the path itself. I suppose you could invest in an ultrasound system that could map out the path for the lights to follow. In any case, this all seems like a waste of time and energy that could be better used developing a light source that yields a wider scope of vision (with an on-off switch, of course, to preserve energy and not bother surrounding cars on a busy street). Even the self-adjusting light source ought to have an on-off switch. Your best option, though, would be a light source whose orientation you can manually control in a similar way to how you control the side-view mirrors. Hope this helps! -Zach
