when to send transcripts

Question for you all:

I am trying to figure if I should wait to send my transcripts until my fall grades are recorded. I think doing so would pretty significantly help my GPA but worried they won't make the due dates. I'm wondering how strict schools are with the due dates and the supplementary materials if the online application is submitted on time. Most of the schools need the dates are sometime around the Jan 1st and if I wait till fall grades are in I won't be able to send out my transcripts until December 20th or so. Is that cutting it too close? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Some schools ask that in this case, you submit a transcript now, and have the option to submit another as soon as possible with fall grades. I would ask the school what they prefer you do, but definitely make sure you're covered. In my case, I might not have my fall grades until the first week of January, which would be after almost all of my due dates. Some schools ask that you tell them what fall AND spring classes you're taking (which is kind of a pain, since I haven't even registered for spring classes yet).

In the same position, but I've decided just to send them now. Most of the school's deadlines are final so I think it's better to be safe. But as LLajax suggested, I'm planning on asking each school if they'll accept a complete transcript later on.

I've been trying to contact some of the schools, I find that although the responses are not always clear and I don't want to keep bothering them. I'm leaning towards just sending them now but still haven't decided, one of the departments clearly said it doesn't matter too much when the transcripts arrive. I'll let you guys know how things develop in the next couple of days, hopefully I'll have a decision by then.
