etylerbc Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Hello all - I just discovered this place. I'm obviously freaking out about this whole waiting on offers thing and wondering if anyone has heard anything from BC or ND? I know that ND gives answers by early March but also has a weekend of interviews so I'm assuming people should start hearing pretty soon. Thanks!
tshaunprice Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 i also applied to theological ethics at BC and haven't heard anything yet
achowa00 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I also applied to BC (albeit in Systematics) and have not heard anything yet. They do have that status check website though and you should be able to see when your decision letter is mailed, even if they won't tell you what it says.

Hey all, I made it through several cuts last year at BC only to be axed in the final round. I found out the first week in March (mind you, I called the admissions office...the letter didnt come for another week and a half). People who were cut in earlier rounds found out mid-late February. As for ND, I think their interview weekend is in late Feb. Hope that helps.
achowa00 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Someone also posted on the results search an invitation to interview at ND for theology on Feb. 27-28. Good luck!!
cavedan Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Also, Notre Dame's Christianity & Judaism in Antiquity is having interviews that weekend (2/26-28); I got an email invitation today.
etylerbc Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 No ND Ethics interview invite yet. I'm assuming this is a rejection. ND was a my last choice and I'm still upset. This is going to be a long month. ugh. Congrats to those invited.
tshaunprice Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Etylerbc, Where have you applied for ethics other than ND and BC?
etylerbc Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Loyola Chicago, Fordham (under Systematics) and Yale.
studyordie Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 No invite for ND Systematics , maybe my sample paper should have been less weird...
etylerbc Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 I have heard that BC made decisions last Friday and will send out letters end of this week/next week. Anyone hear something similar?
achowa00 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 etylerbc, Where did you hear that? Are you a student there? I hope you're right!
rollofthedice Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I just got an email from Boston College Grad Director. Accepted to Theology program with funding. First acceptance in two years and twenty schools of trying. Pretty excited. A little shell shocked. I assume that most initial offers are going out this week as a result. Best of luck to all of you still waiting.
studyordie Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Congrats rollofthedice, that has got to feel great. You'll be my inspiration if I'm doing this next year. I urge you with the most utter sincerity to accept the offer  !
ohwell Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Two people have submitted results saying they received acceptance emails from BC. Does this mean they sent them all at once? Anyone else hear anything?
achowa00 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 rollofthedice, congrats!! That's very exciting and must be a huge relief. I applied to Systematics and haven't heard anything...
Philmajor Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Excellent news Rollofthedice! I am sure you are overwhelmed with relief - go celebrate!
etylerbc Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 rollofthedice - way to go! I got in as well. What a frikkin relief. I feel like I can finally breath. What area will you be in? I am in Ethics. To the question above - I know that Ethics and History emails went out yesterday. The Ethics email said that they had the most applicants ever. Good luck to the rest of you.
rollofthedice Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I am in History of Christian Life and Thought (primarily Early Christianity/Historical Theology). Looking forward to working with Kolbet and Anatolios. It is such a relief to have an option on the table, for sure. I dont know what the situation is with systematics. it sounds like they may not have sent stuff out yet? who knows. best of luck to all.
