Rhodo Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 My university doesn't have the traditional /4.00 GPA system, and instead gives marks as percents. Has anyone else had to create applications like this? Every university also has different standards for letter grade equivalents of percent grades, so it's difficult to translate my grades into a 4.00 system.
Helpplease123 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Every single place i've applied to has asked me to give my grade in it's original format and NOT to translate it into a GPA - I think they have their own system...
Gvh Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I had to send my transcripts to WES (Word Education Services) to get them translated for a couple of the programs I applied to. But if you head to to the WES website, they give rough ideas how your percentages can be translated, so you can estimate them yourself.
Rhodo Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Hmm I checked out that site and for Canada it seems that they don't have anything. Thanks for the info though.
fuzzylogician Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Does the app request that you translate your grades into the 4.0 system? None of my apps did. As far as I know schools prefer to use their own conversion standards and simply ask that you input your grads in the original scale, which will also appear in your transcripts anyway.
Rhodo Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 That makes sense. I probably don't need to worry about this, thanks.
