fatrial Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Hi, I am interested in an MBA/MPA degree since it gives me options in the private and public sector. My question is: is there any way that having MPA attached to your MBA title will have a negative effect when interviewing or will it just be an extra plus? Also, besides harvard and ivy leagues, which schools have these programs? So far I have found Kennesaw State, U.Mass, Presidio, and John Hopkins. Any others? Thanks for any help!
slaNYC Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I don't know the answer to your question regarding downside of having a dual MPA MBA degree. However, I can tell you that NYU does have such a program between Wagner and Stern.
Vanessa H Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 The NYU-Wagner partnership also benefits students that are only MBA or MPA candidates. You are able to take courses at either school. I just completed my MBA at Stern (and was president of the Stern Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Association), and can confirm that there is quite a bit of "cross breeding" between the schools.
Rexbocker828 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 A lot of the MPP programs have this partnership since in theory the MPA programs have a business component already present in their core curriculum and MPP programs are training policy analysts. From the schools that I've applied to I know that UCLA and Pepperdine both have the dual degree option.
