TPP MIT

I know it doesnt really fall under Engineering but its the closest category to this program. This forum has very little in terms of applicants or information on this program except about Pepper White.

Has anyone else applied for the Technology and Policy Program at MIT for Fall 2009, any feedback/concerns about it?

I applied to the PhD program (ESD); probably would have applied to the MS last year if timing had worked out better. MIT is just such an amazing place to be I imagine the competition is insane.

It looks like the MIT TPP admissions are out according to the forum. 2 people have posted receiving emails with acceptance on Mar. 2-3 with an invite to the open house on Mar. 16. If you have not received an email yet, then rejection emails will come out probably around mid march.

In the profiles thread, you only mentioned applying to Ph.D programs, it doesnt mention any Masters program. Did you apply to the MIT TPP later on?

I'm actually an M.Eng student this year; I'll be taking a gap year to do some research (hopefully at a national lab) and apply to MS/PhD programs for the fall of 2010. I'm interested in science/technology policy, and I'm still researching programs in the area. MIT's TPP is obviously a top candidate... although I've no idea if I can get in.

My end goal is PhD though, so I don't intend to apply for any terminal masters programs.
