cottonwoodgirl Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Oh by the way I heard it was about 12 students Hi Rachel and Kate, I applied for CalArts' mfa program, did you guys apply for the 2 year? I applied for the three year. I'll see you guys there! Jenny
LovelyPainter Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) @ Zeecchi: That would be more useful for the MFA freakout post. @Livingsoda My recent interview was extremely intimate in close quarters but I assume it depends on the school. It was intense but more conversational than anything with a few pointed/direct questions. Be prepared for them to talk in metaphorical circles and then throw a question at you. They are testing you to see how you react. I'd be happy to answer any additional questions you have but again I think it is all subjective to the program. Good luck Edited February 18, 2012 by LovelyPainter
LovelyPainter Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Both of mine were short as well if that is helpful to anyone. Ten minutes and fifteen minutes. Seems pretty typical. Hi Rachel, I'm going to go to the calarts graphic interview, although it's now March 2nd. From what I hear, it's not meant to be a super stressful thing. One of the posts said it was fairly short about, 20 min. One person told me it's more to see if the school seems to be a good fit for you. Feel free to message me, and I'll probably see you there!
Rachel Cassandra Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hi Rachel and Kate, I applied for CalArts' mfa program, did you guys apply for the 2 year? I applied for the three year. I'll see you guys there! Jenny I applied for the 3 year since my design background is limited. See you soon!
