cc05cs Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I don't know about the rest of you, but I am slowly losing my mind! One day my experiments will work fine, and then the next, they don't. I'm know it's something I am doing differently, but I dont know what. So I'll try it again the next day, and it works fine. Just wondering how you guys deal with the constant ups and downs, and with things not working as well as you want them to.
kgumps2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I know how you feel. when things like that happen you just document document document in your lab notebook. Whenever I am really concerned about something I talk to my adviser for advice on what to do. Sometimes you have to throw in your towel on a certain protocol for another that hopefully will answer your question. I hope things work out better!
cc05cs Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Thanks, I know they will. Things always have a way of working out. It's just so friggin' frustrating!
kgumps2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 tell me about it. I spent almost a month this year (not all at one time) trying to figure out what was wrong with my 1.5hour transfer for western blotting. I have since given up and moved to an overnight transfer no matter what.
Genomic Repairman Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) I am the reason we no longer have metal trashcans thanks to a 6 month failed project in expressing a protein. Kgumps, what voltage and conditions are you doing your transfer at? email me, if you want help. Edited February 3, 2012 by Genomic Repairman
