First off, I'm a USA student. I recently just got an acceptance from Durham University to do a master's by research. My longterm career goal is to be a professor of sociology. I know that receiving a PhD from a foreign university might hurt my chances in academia in the USA, but I was wondering what your opinion on receiving a master's from the UK and then pursuing a PhD in the USA was? I never studied abroad during my undergrad career, so I see this as a great opportunity to live abroad, while also getting an education. Plus, Durham University is one of the top 5-10 universities in the UK for sociology. What are your thoughts?
