Scrabble2 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Does anybody have any insight into what the culture of the program at Wisconsin is like now that they have switched to smaller cohorts/guaranteed funding? I realize that in the past Wisconsin has been characterized as overly competitive since funding was not guaranteed. If they had not made the change, I would be wary of attending their program. However, since the change was recently instituted in the Fall of 2011, I'm not sure what to expect if I did enroll. Anybody have any insight or ideas about what to expect?
Sociograd Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I can say that it will cost you at least 1500/month to live comfortably in downtown Madison. Madison offers about 15000/year not including scholarships/fellowships etc. So, you will need some more funding.
Sociograd Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 1500/month is assuming you live by yourself and eat well. If you can, don't bring a car. Good parking is at least 80/month plus parking fees for campus and gas.
