I just had a phone interview with a professor from University of Toronto. I felt I did well. But during the interview, I felt that the prof was in a rush we didnt talk for more than 15 minutes. Should I be concerned about the length of the interview? He did say to keep in touch. That was it.

Maybe he had urgent meeting he had to attend to and at the same time wanted to talk to you..he did say to keep in touch...be sure to send a thank you email and express if he has any other questions...or mayb say you had a question to ask...it's a great way to let him know of your interest...and ask if he would like to meet in person sometime...

R u in Toronto? Wat program?

My phone and in person interviews with professors were all over the map (I applied to U of T and Ryerson by the way). Sometimes the professor seemed really scatter brained and rushed. Sometimes they just wanted to talk about their research, asking little from me. Most of them were pretty good though, some give and take in the conversation.

If he said "keep in touch" does that mean he is interested and will contact me in the future?

It could mean a bunch of things. It could be him just being polite. Or maybe he will contact you. I think the safest bet is for you to contact him (but make sure the contact is meaningful and genuine)

I just had an interview as well, for a Global Affairs program. The woman from admissions asked me one question: Could you please tell me more about why you would like to study Transnational Security. She asked me a few other questions about things I had mentioned and then asked if I had any questions for her. That was it! It was about 15minutes as well. I hung up the phone feeling extremely confused and wondered why that was necessary? I had prepared for a bunch of different questions and only got asked one?!

Back to the waiting game.
