fatrial Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I want to go ahead and start on my MBA coursework through an accredited online program in the fall (2 or 3 of the basic core classes like accounting or operations) and then transfer to a bigger university in the spring. I cant go straight to a campus univeristy until january because of moving issues. I was wondering if most programs accept transfer credits and if this sounds like a viable option. Thanks!
Vanessa H Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I took a basic Marketing class at UConn to determine whether or not I would be interested in a MBA couses. I then started at Stern the following fall and they are very explicit about not accepting transfer credits. In some cases you can take a proficiency exam to try to test out of the class, but you still have to complete all 60 credits or whatnot at the school that will issue your degree; you just get to take additional electives if you pass the proficiency exam.
imonedaful Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 You may want to contact the school in which you would be interested in transferring your credits to and see if they accept any transfer of credits. I successfully transfered one MBA class from my undergrad institute to where I did my MBA. However, a lot of schools do not accept transfer credits because it is such a short program.
