I need some insight fellow gradcafers! I received two emails the other day from a prospective school I applied to for PhD track psychology, but it wasn't from admissions but the financial aid office urging me to complete my FAFSA asap.

The emails read, "FAILURE TO SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BY THE DEADLINE INDICATED WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF PRIORITY FUNDS INCLUDING SOME GRANTS, LOANS AND WORK-STUDY."

This particular program does not admit students without full financial assistance; Yet I haven't heard anything from the graduate admissions on the status of my application at all...

Is this good news? Thanks for your comments!

I think its a little more than a reminder, because when I log onto the aid application that they instructed me to, it looks as though they are already processing the information... Additionally there is a section to change my existing application, one of the options to change is a notion that I would NOT be attending the school.

Is this similar to your situation? I'm still very cautious...

I actually didn't bother submitting any of my financial aid information to this school since I didn't hear any word from the program. It was just a reminder to fill out the FAFSA. Depending on when the application deadline was, maybe it would be okay to inquire about it with the program? You could just send an email asking whether it is necessary for you to fill out that information if you are unsure about whether you've been accepted.
