  1. Anyone know of a website or any other tool that effectively searches for Ph.D. Psych programs by research interest? Or am I asking for a miracle? Thanks!
  2. It can be an overwhelming process, just make sure to set small goals for yourself and to find your pace. Also make sure you really want to go to graduate school, because if it is hard to be motivated now, It is likely to get much more difficult.
  3. Agreed. If you can show that you can write well, then they may figure that you are just not a fast typer or something. But also consider that the AW apparently measures the ability to (articulate) reason well, so make sure you show those qualities through other avenues of your application.
  4. I wouldn't put GRE scores unless they are all 90% + I've seen GPAs included, but again I would only put them if they are stellar. Usually you want to lead with your strongest aspect first, and if you have publications or research experience, you want to make sure they read that first and foremost, and not leave it for the end where they may have already decided one way or the other.
  5. You can always try to apply with what you have, but there are some schools (I've heard) that can't get past lower GRE scores unless the rest of the app is stellar. However now you can chose what scores to send in the GRE I believe, so if you don't do as well they don't have to see those scores. P.S. I'm not a super math person either but i was able to hit the high 80's with a practice book by princeton review, and 2 weeks before the test just did a practice test a night. The more you practice, the more you will get comfortable with the test, hopefully the better you will do! Good luck
  6. Urgh, how lame! I guess its some sort of time frame, although they stated that was just the "earliest". Its odd because the deadline to accept their financial aid is in the beginning of May, hopefully they will decide by then! I am not sure if MB&B has sent out any other offers, it might be time to email (again) soon! Good luck to you too! I hope everything goes well for you
  7. Anyone hear when San Francisco State is going to release their decisions? Namely the MA in Mind, Brain, and Behavior? The website says April 15th to May 1st at the soonest, but that doesn't really say anything. Thanks
  8. At least you got a response lol Yeah I wish they would hurry it up, I'm tired of checking my email
  9. Logging into SF State's admission status website, my information has changed with options of setting up email, submitting immunizations forms, etc., but with no posted decision... anyone else have this?
  10. I applied to SF state's Masters in Psychological Research... haven't heard anything yet, even after I emailed inquiring about the status of my application. My guess is we will begin to hear within the next couple of weeks. Good Luck!
  11. I haven't gotten that email, and have heard nothing from them... maybe this email is a good sign? What area did you apply to?
  12. I would super appreciate it if the individual accepted into UCLA's developmental program could PM me there POI also!
  13. I think its a little more than a reminder, because when I log onto the aid application that they instructed me to, it looks as though they are already processing the information... Additionally there is a section to change my existing application, one of the options to change is a notion that I would NOT be attending the school. Is this similar to your situation? I'm still very cautious...
  14. I need some insight fellow gradcafers! I received two emails the other day from a prospective school I applied to for PhD track psychology, but it wasn't from admissions but the financial aid office urging me to complete my FAFSA asap. The emails read, "FAILURE TO SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BY THE DEADLINE INDICATED WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF PRIORITY FUNDS INCLUDING SOME GRANTS, LOANS AND WORK-STUDY." This particular program does not admit students without full financial assistance; Yet I haven't heard anything from the graduate admissions on the status of my application at all... Is this good news? Thanks for your comments!
