I saw that some has been accepted into cs phd of UIowa. If he/she happens to see this thread, would you mind telling me which program you applied? Is it computer graphics under the advice of prof. Chris Wyman?

Thanks!

I also applied to Iowa. I know they're big on verfication right now. I haven't heard back yet though. If your domestic it should be fairly easy to get into their PhD program. I've met Chris (very nice and chatty guy) also and plan to work with him. It sounded like he was expecting the possibility of two more PhD students.

Well let me know how it goes. Who knows we both might end up in the same place depending on things.

hi! are you native? I'm in China. So you met Chris, did he have confidence of getting you accepted? I also really hope that I can work with him, but my situation is a little hard. I didn't have much practical experiences in rendering, cuz my focus was in point based modeling during master years.

I remembered Chris had not only once mentioned that current number of phd reaches his limit, and he was not actively recruiting. If you are right about his wanting to hire more PhDs, then that's a good news.

Can you leave your email address? or you can tell me your messenger or gtalk so that we can chat with more convenience.
