viracity Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Any of y'all who got accepted to Rice going to decline? I just received notification that I'm on a wait list. (My first response, aside from implicit rejections.) Also, is there a polite standard way to ask where on the list I stand? Or should I just bite the bullet and wait to hear?
lyonessrampant Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 It is totally acceptable to reply asking about how the waitlist is composed, your place on it, and perhaps historical information about chances of moving from the waitlist to an acceptance. Good luck on getting in!
rubyrunner Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Congrats, viracity! I'm another waitlister. My email said I'm high enough on the waitlist that they'll fly me out for the Open House, which is very generous! I definitely think it's acceptable to ask your place on the list.
viracity Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Congrats to you, too, Rubyrunner! And thanks to you both for the info re asking about place on the list!
rubyrunner Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Looks like a couple of people got in from the waitlist last year. I'm taking that as a good omen!
