It looks like (at least according to this website) that only two people so far have been accepted, but in some of the fora I've found a few people who also got packages sent to them almost two weeks ago. I'm a bit nervous that this means I'll be getting a rejection in the post soon, but I'm still hoping...
rdsull89 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Still waiting too. It seems like the acceptances could have been the big award winners. It's odd that they haven't reported, since they're one of the few schools that gives a time frame and late February has passed.

rdsull89 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Looks like they probably mailed decisions today...Like somebody posted on the results page, website now says: "You will receive notification of your admission decision soon via postal mail. Please note that the Office of Admissions provides final decision notifications by letter only. We do not disclose admission decisions via e-mail, telephone, or any other means."

In a different thread about USC's Creative Writing/Lit PhD, someone said a contact at the school stated that decisions for that program would go out in the first week of March. So, hopefully, our letters are on the way. (The website says notification will come only by mail.)

They very sympathetically pointed out that, due to "the depressed state of the job market," their incoming Ph.D. cohort is about 60% of what it was fifteen years ago. I guess I'm going to have to hold off on making my decision until closer to April 15th after all. God I wish I was doing this in the '90s.

I'm not sure what spot I hold on the list, but hopefully its a high one. Rejected. Dejected. Crushed. Really sorry to hear it, bespeckled. Best of luck with your remaining schools. I had all but given up on any more positive responses, since I've already received a ton of rejections, but apparently not all of the latecoming emails are outright rejections.

I am wait listed at USC and it's my top choice program. Have you made a decision yet, by chance? I just told someone else on the wait list at a different school that I'll turn down my spot there if I get into USC. This process is hilarious. Edited March 27, 2012 by arp
