MarketingPhD2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) Received yet ANOTHER rejection today, via email, from Indiana University. With each passing day, I am feeling more and more like a LOSER! Guess I am destined to be a blue collar worker for the rest of my life! Edited March 2, 2012 by abusbyPhD
habanero Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I'm so sorry to hear that! Just think of how many schools haven't rejected you yet--LOTS. I am sure you will get in to at least one of them. Also, blue collar workers aren't losers (although I know you didn't intend to say this).
MarketingPhD2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 habanero, You are right! I apologize if I came off as saying blue collar workers are losers. That is certainly not what I meant. I am just not thinking clearly right now.
CarlieE Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 You never know what today's mail will bring!!! Good Luck
We regret to inform you Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 When i applied for my current masters that i am wrapping up at the moment I was rejected by 8 out of 10 schools. It was the very last school to respond that gave me my only funded offer! As i recall, I don't think that happened until mid april either. Hang in there!
DoggieMom Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) I received 7 rejections (4 on one day) before receiving an acceptance from my #1 choice. You never know when things will suddenly have you feeling great! Edited March 2, 2012 by DoggieMom
Hillary Emick Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I have been on an emotional roller coaster with this whole process. I got invited for an interview for a university fellowship last week, about a week after I got a rejection letter from the department (because my POI had left suddenly and at this point in the process there wasn't anyone else with room in their roster for another grad student.) The program coordinator expressed his sympathy about the situation and encouraged me to apply again next year. He also told me not to lose heart and that he didn't get accepted until his 3rd year of applying to grad programs. I found that pretty discouraging rather than encouraging as he probably intended.
MarketingPhD2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 he didn't get accepted until his 3rd year of applying to grad programs. I found that pretty discouraging rather than encouraging as he probably intended. Yeah, definitely pretty discouraging. I definitely don't have 3 years!
