kerzyb Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Hey everyone, Is anyone planning on attending the University of South Florida for anthro? I got into the MA program in medical anthropology (hoping to stay for my PhD), and I'm leaning heavily towards accepting the offer but want to wait until funding decisions come out before fully committing... So... any potential classmates?
Cici Beanz Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I was accepted but declined this afternoon in favor of Binghamton. I was going to wait to hear back about funding but in the end I went with my gut, and my gut said SUNY. Where else did you apply? Okie 1
jball2 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I have yet to hear back from USF for my MA in medical anthropology. I applied to the MA/MPH dual degree program (my background is in public health). When did you hear from them? I just sent a follow-up e-mail so we'll see. I got into UF for a PhD in medical anthropology but as of right now I do not have funding...
Okie Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I applied to USF for PhD and still waiting to hear back. Do you think they did master's level first? I was also accepted to UF for PhD in Med Anth and I am hoping to here back on funding soon. Waiting it all out is rough. Please make sure and post if you all hear anything!
kerzyb Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 I got an unofficial acceptance e-mail on Feb. 27 from the graduate director saying that an official notification would be e-mailed out in about two weeks. I don't see any place online to check... I e-mailed my potential advisor at USF and he said they usually admit about 15 MA students and 15 PhD students per year. Don't know if that helps. Congrats to both of you for getting into UF! USF said they'd be sending out funding notifications the week of March 19th (as did another school I was accepted into), so hopefully by then we'll all be hearing some good news.
