canIhazPhDplz Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I have received responses from two schools--MSU and UW-Madison. I didn't make the cut for one fellowship at MSU, but I am still eligible for another one and I was asked if I want to proceed. However, I am still waiting to interview at UW-Madison. I don't want to hurt my chances at receiving funding if things do not work out at UW-Madison. Any advice?
guttata Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Why is this even a question? Proceed and see if you're offered it. Whether or not you're offered a fellowship at one school will have absolutely no bearing on whether you're funded at another.
see_bella Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Proceed with applying for the other fellowship while you wait for your interview. You've already been accepted at MSU and like you said, if you don't get lucky at UW-M, you don't want to lose both opportunities. Just my two cents...
canIhazPhDplz Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 I guess I wasn't sure if it meant I was commiting to MSU. Thanks
