  1. I guess I wasn't sure if it meant I was commiting to MSU. Thanks
  2. I have received responses from two schools--MSU and UW-Madison. I didn't make the cut for one fellowship at MSU, but I am still eligible for another one and I was asked if I want to proceed. However, I am still waiting to interview at UW-Madison. I don't want to hurt my chances at receiving funding if things do not work out at UW-Madison. Any advice?
  3. "I think my potential PIs hate me" vs. "I think my PI hates me" (that's a given at this point).
  4. Hi all, I posted this awhile back but I thought I'd be more direct... Is it okay to reschedule an interview? The particular school is my top choice. I already asked, and they said they would see if it works for the faculty. I hate to put them through so much trouble but I had a conflict. Mostly I'm just being impatient and I'm super anxious
  5. That was part of my confusion. This program already had two recruiting weekends. Who knows? Thanks for the response
  6. Hi all, I applied to UW-Madison for fall admission. I know that they have had two recruiting weekends, and I was not invited to either. However, I was very relieved when I received an e-mail inviting me for an interview. Of course, I had a scheduling conflict and I politely asked to reschedule, trying my best to convey my sincere interest in the program. The chair of the program responded saying that he would see if another date will work for the faculty. Did I shoot myself in the foot? If so, is there any way to recover? I am under a lot of pressure, so I think a lot of my worry is compounded by stress. I asked to reschedule a few days ago, but I haven't heard back about whether or not it will be okay. Also, are interviews scheduled aside from recruiting weekends on an individual basis? I would appreciate any advice!
