Guest short circuit Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Anyone going to UW, Seattle this fall?
Guest lumit Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I'm going this fall. What program are you in?
Guest lds Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I would love to consider going, but I've been placed on a waitlist for the English PhD program. So...has anyone received an offer in this program that they're definitely going to take? Just trying to weigh my chances here.
AliceInChains Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 i did my undergrad at UW and grew up in seattle so feel free to ask any questions or view some of the other seattle threads cause I have posted in there. GO HUSKIES! BOW DOWN TO WASHINGTON!
chulogrande Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 99% likely to go: PhD Economics. Kinda funny since I was born there while my father was getting his own PhD there and have been a Husky football fan for 15 years.
Teazer Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 99% likely to go: PhD Economics. I'm in for the Finance PhD. See you in micro & econometrics!
chulogrande Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Teazer said: I'm in for the Finance PhD. See you in micro & econometrics! Nice! Funny thing is that mathematical finance would have been my 2nd choice for a career. See you in Micro & Metrics!
Peter Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 So this thread might be officially dead---but anybody else thinking of UW for their PhD in Political Science (IR concentration?) I hear there are likely going to be 4-5 IR-ites enrolling in 2008.... would love to meet any potential students...
bkflyer Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I was accepted to Washington and am still waiting to hear about funding. I will be in the department of Education if I go there, but my area is civic education and my advisor has a dual appointment so I expect to take a few classes in Political Science as well. Would like to go to the visit day - does anybody know if they are paying for students to come? So far, I have only received an email acceptance.
Peter Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 They told me they couldn't promise reimbursement but that there were decent odds. But my flight was cheap, so... Civic education sounds like an interesting program. I honestly didn't know that was one of the subfields of Ed...
ollie cromwell Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I was able to score enough reimbursement to drive, but not to fly.
SpectacledDaruma Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 As the only school that offered me money to get an MA (and lots of it) looks like I'll be at UW for the next 2 years. So, who else is definitely going for Fall 2008?
ollie cromwell Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I've thrown my hat in here for Geography. Should be fun.
