jordanami Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I am just wondering who has heard, from what programs, so far. I have been asked to select a mentor prof from University of Arizona DrPH. I am also applying to UT Austin and UC Denver-Anschutz (you can see my geographic bias). I also applied to UPitt, but it seems other have heard something from there, but I have not, so I am kind of writing that one off (plus, it's really outside of my preferred geographic region;)).
Epi_Queen Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 What DrPH concentration did you apply for at Colorado School of Public Health? Did you interview there yet?
jordanami Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 What DrPH concentration did you apply for at Colorado School of Public Health? Did you interview there yet? The Community/Behavioral. No, I haven't interviewed. Do they do interviews?
Ville Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I have just been accepted to the DrPH in Health Behavior at George Washington University, but without any funding whatsoever. So, it's pointless really. I wonder what are some of the programs that provide admitted DrPH students (esp. in behavioral/community/preventive health) with full funding. I can't justify getting loans of a few hundred thousand dollars to attend a doctoral program. Mandalpaca 1

Luckily, I have another offer on the table (North Texas) with a scholarship and GA position so I'm good. Besides, I was having second thoughts bout whether or not I'd actually attend GWU if I got in due to tuition and cost of living in DC...but obviously that's not a problem anymore as of 30 minutes ago, lol boxoatoc 1
Ville Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 My stats are: 610 V 720 Q 5.0 W GRE, undergrad GPA of 3.86 in communication and grad GPA of 3.91 in health communication I think it's more of program fit as I have spoken with a few professors who share my area of interests in social marketing, health comm., and utilization of new media in health campaigns. It's a shame that I can't attend their program. I would really like to live in DC, given it's the central location for international health arena. Now, I will just have to decide between the offer with full funding at UW or USC (both of which are PhD in Communication). thereal19 1
thereal19 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 After hearing that, I can definitely see why you were accepted...very impressive! Congrats on your other full funding offer! No worries, I'm sure we'll both somehow make it to DC someday with our degrees in tow!
lizamanelli Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 The Community/Behavioral. No, I haven't interviewed. Do they do interviews? Hi, I also applied to the University of Colorado DrPH program but from what I have inferred from the website there's no indication there's a interview process. Did you find out if there is in fact one?
