IR, security, area focus on Asia. I know GWU's placement record is not that amazing, yet I seem have no other choice. I am interested in working at think tanks after graduation.

Take it or not? Need your advice. Last minute to decide.

Funding? If not I'd it would probably be best to look at your applications, figure out what can be improved and have another shot this fall.

If you have funding then you should definately take it! GW actually has great faculty and a very respectable reputation in policy circles.

If you want to work in a think tank, I think that GWU is very well positioned. The faculty is great, especially for IR, and the location is fantastic. (it's across from State Dept., close to Woodrow Wilson, CSIS, etc.) My understanding is that their placement in the think tank community is strong, and it's their academic posting placement that is relatively weak.

I waited until the last moment for funding from GW, which I didn't get. Thus, I decided to do a Master's first and try again. Hopefully in 2 years, I'll get into more and better programs and with more funding offers. Better than settling for an unfunded offer. My other offer was funded but they didn't have the resources for my field so I turned that down as well.
