lolarolla Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Hi everyone, I'm currently in highschool with a 4.0 gpa looking to apply to some of the best art schools in the country. SCAD is in my home-state, but I'm looking to apply to somewhere away from home as well. I hope to get an awesome portfolio together and compete for scholarships. What kind of things do they look for in a portfolio besides just observational life studies? My interests are really more into commercial art, like illustration and concept art and hope to take some digital art and computer animation as well so I can eventually work as an art director, animator, or concept artist. Any advice would be wonderful! I am definitely steering clear of all of the art institutes as well!
steve5 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 hey I definitely recommend art center's entertainment design program. I'm actually considering it as a 2nd bachelors cuz its so amazing. I think Ringling is supposed to be good too.
