  1. lolz. yea email. not in those words but basically yea. And yea I'm going! I don't really have any other choices to pick from and it is an amazing program with great faculty, otherwise I wouldn't have applied in the first place. I'm assuming thers no funding at this point, but yea I'm going! Super excited. My plans totally changed in a random, unexpected email. Love these life moments.
  2. YAY! just got into Parsons! Crazy! I wasn't even on the waitlist!!
  3. hey I definitely recommend art center's entertainment design program. I'm actually considering it as a 2nd bachelors cuz its so amazing. I think Ringling is supposed to be good too.
  4. sorry to hear that l'artiste. this is so weird and confusing. the guy specifically told me that they don't send out decisions by email. They've also been giving different people different decision dates. SAIC are really pissing me off! good luck with CalArts though. that would be amazing! and I would go with USF but not for the money, more for the flexibility of the program. I don't much about either, just that MICA has a better rep. I guess if u want to focus on photo or that program than I would go with that, even with the half funding, but if you wanna use your time in grad school to experiment more with other media I would go with USF
  5. I asked them and they're sending out decsions by mail this week and won't give official decisions by email. they're really taking their time!!
  6. yea I agree. that's what I'm planning to do. There's also so much stuff on the internet if you're ever curious about a technique or a style or something. You can also take classes in a local art school where you pay by sessions. like $200 for 10 sessions or something or life drawing classes where you pay $10 per session. The SAIC/RISD or those big school certificate programs are too expensive, especially if you're gonna follow it up with an MFA from them.
  7. congratz! goes to show you how subjective schools can be. was RISD your top choice?
  8. oh spring break, I didn't even think about that. but yea I get the impression that SAICdo things by snail mail, even though somebody got an acceptance by email for FVNM in the results survey. http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=saic. so theres really no knowing. good luck to you too!! ahh this is my last chance. i've suddenly become very religious these past couple of weeks
  9. did anyone else hear back from SAIC FVNMA? this is gonna be a tough week for those of us still waiting. may the odds be eva in your favor!
  10. hands down I would choose Parsons. Their teachers are amazing, they really care about you personally. And I think it's more interdisciplinary, I don't know how much of that you would want. I don't know that much about Montclair but I know Parsons is amazing for Fine Arts.
  11. for design, I would go with Pratt. And being in NYC is a major plus, but even without that I would still go with Pratt.
  12. Congratulations to everyone getting amazing acceptances at this point!! I'm so happy for all you guys! and it gives me hope that things aren't over yet. And I also wanna add I'm soooo grateful for these forums and for all all of you on here. I would be in a fetal position crying if i hadn't discovered this. I've already started making plans for next year and ways to improve my portfolio. does anyone know if I can contact the schools and ask them to keep my letters of recommendation in my file? cuz I got super awesome ones and I don't wanna lose them for when I apply again next year.
  13. my CCA admission status changed onlline to "admission denied" only SAIC animation to go. and then I can move on with my life. I really hope I get in though and seeing how it's animation and that was my undergrad studies, it's always been my best chance. So stupid of me to think I can get into Painting without much experience. I just thought that's what I want to get better at, so that's what I should study. I also always thought that grad schools appreciate people coming from different disciplines to add diversity to their programs but that's just lies becuase they just want people who are already good at what they do. I'm kinda confused about this whole grad school thing now. like what is it for, and who is it for, and what's actually expected of us in the program?
  14. yea I agree, but I must admit I'm also jealous of people's acceptances, especially the ones with many acceptances and they actually get to make the choice of where they wanna go. it's kinda like in The Voice when you hope with you all your life that someone turns their chair for you, and then you get all of them to turn and it's your turn to make the choice. That's gotta be the coolest decision you can make. Anyway... yea I've been thinking about future plans and part of me is happy to have another 8 months or so to just work and develop my technical skills, and I got a really cool idea this morning in the shower that I want to develop , but part of me wishes I could do all that in grad school with the support system, the environment and the intensity to really motivate me to work. Keeping my fingers crossed for now.
