Guest mars Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I am currently trying to arrange an RA position, have an interview with one of the Profs there tomorrow. He will decide after the interview. If I am offered the position, I will certainly go to MIT EECS. What about you? What kind of financial aid did you arrange?
Guest mars Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I was offered that RA position now, and heading to MIT EECS (EE). Anyone else?
rhodochrosite Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I'm leaning very strongly toward MIT (EAPS); had a great visit and am eager to get to work on research there. Pretty nice $ too, though it's a ridiculously expensive place to live.
Guest forgradadvice Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 What is your area of interest (planetary, geology, oceanography) and who are you thinking of working with?
Guest forgradadvice Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 EAPS Planetary Science. But I'm not completely sold yet.
rhodochrosite Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Anyone else going to MIT? What are you guys planning to do about housing? Has anyone visited grad apartments in Edgerton House? I cringe at the thought of living in grad student housing but at least it's close and heat & electricity are included. Craig's List hasn't given me much hope so far.
Guest guest Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I'll be starting at MIT for Econ PhD in the fall. I'll plan to off-campus, though, since I'm not going to abandon my cat and they don't allow pets in the grad student housing. (They do in undergrad housing, though...how unfair is that?)
