mimiuchi Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Hello, So i was fortunate enough to be awarded a Category A CGS (35k/3 years). I had assumed i could switch to Cat B Fellowship (20k/4 years) without incident... until i read the award holder's guide. They were really emphatic about the different categories, and i also noticed Category C is where I wish i had landed where I have the choice between A and B. Anyone have any insights about whether it will be a problem to switch from A to B?? It's too late for me since i already accepted an offer in the US and turned down my Canadian offer... thanks mariam
Ziz Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I think the people who get category C are usually the ones who have indicated they'd like to take it outside of Canada. Why would you want to downgrade to regular SSHRC if you're staying in Canada anyway?
mimiuchi Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 i've accepted an offer in the US not Canada. SSHRC got back to me; they said it's no problem to switch to cat B. i guess they're happy to save the extra money.
