isotope
One of my top schools is paying for my visit to become "acquainted with the program" and "talk about further research opportunities". For a week and a half I've been in close contact with one of the PI's at the program (prospective adviser) and the program coordinator, corresponding primarily about logistics for my visit and possible research avenues, but I've not gotten indication one way or another about whether I've been accepted. I make the trip in very early March, but I'm getting anxious. Can I be confident at all at this point?
achimneyswallow
I think it is a great sign that you received invitation to visit the school. I don't know if it means an admission for sure, but two people I know had received invitations before they got admitted. I have another question for you, though. I noticed that you applied to UM-EEB. I have heard that they were rejecting people. So congratulations that you received the admission! I applied for the same program. I would love to know when you received the admission, and if you attended the recruitment weekend or not? I am still waiting to know my status... Thank you! socialpsych
You are probably not accepted yet, but this is a very good sign--your chances now are probably like 30-90% depending on how many people they have decided to interview. Congrats!
