Hi,

I would like to pursue a course in Fitness and Health in Canada. Few colleges like Humber and George Brown are offering the course but confused as to which one to pick?

Also i have not done any major degree etc as i have done my Masters in Communication. Would it be advisable i do a degree else would a 2 year diploma hold good?

Please help! :(

Thanks..

If you don't want to do more academic work after this schooling, I suspect the diploma would pay off sooner and for less cost to you (in money and time and person strife!). But, find people who are working at jobs you'd like and see what they have. Do they have diplomas or degrees?

What type of job are you looking for after graduation?

Research? Policy? More applied?

There are a lot of ways you can pursue the health and fitness route, but each one would most likely require a different degree. A bit more information would be helpful!

ok...so as a physical education teacher? A personal trainer? Or a professor at an institution in the field of sports psychology, kine, or health promotion?

As a fitness trainer to start out and then branch to being s specialist and may be open my own! :) But mainly health promotion...

Yo might want to look into personal training programs- which are more hands on and will get you a job in a gym working with clients. If you want to do more work with sports teams as a physical therapist, I might try a kine degree...if you want to do research at a population level- health promotion!
