waboo386 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hello I have started studying for the GRE and am wondering about the correspondence of Powerprep II to the actual exam. I scored 750-800 on the verbal (2 wrong in section 1, 3 wrong in section 2) and am wondering if anybody has details on how their actual scores turned out. In particular, I'm curious whether I'm closer to 750 or 800 under the old system. If it's not too much to ask (and you're willing to answer), can you tell me: -What was your given range for Powerprep II in the old scoring system? -How many did you get wrong in each of the verbal sections for Powerprep II? -What was your actual (new system) score? Thanks!
ronwill06 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 My scores were much lower on the real test, than the Powerprep software. Mostly because I was so nervous on the real test, and had a couple of issues going on in my personal life that made me uncomfortable. I plan to take it in August with a more calm head.
TheFez Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I found PowerPrep II to be easier than the actual test. I had an 170Q on PowerPrep II and ended up with only a 163Q on the real test. I was worried about my actual score - but it was high enough for my admit. I don't recall my PowerPrep II score for verbal - but honestly I didn't work hard on it as my verbal practice scores were higher than needed for my program. I ended up with a pretty high verbal score on the actual test.
edgirl Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I thought the PowerPrep II quantitative questions were easier than the questions I had on test day, but my scores on both V and Q were within the ranges the practice test gave me.
