Bad GRE scores...can I still get in to school psych programs?

I recently took the new GRE score and I pretty much bombed it. I really dont have the money again to retake it, but I'm really struggling to accept the fact that my scores are so low. I will be applying to get into a masters/specialists degree in school psychology and would like to hear your opinions on if my scores are good enough to get in.

Verbal - 146

Quant. - 143

AW - 3.5

My resume is amazing though. I have done research with the school psychologist at my university for over a year now, have a 3.6 GPA/4.0, on the psychology honors program, have volunteered with many places for multiple years now, and have shadowed many school psychologists before. My GRE scores do not show how intelligent I am and how badly I want this, in fact it does the complete opposite.

Do you think I have a chance of getting into some school psych programs? Let me know! Thanks

Find a way to get enough money to retake the exam. Is a lost year of your life really worth $175.

Sell a kidney, or at least some old textbooks then study hard to get scores that won't put your hard work on your GPA at risk.

Low scores on the GRE do send a message to ad comms. They are used for a reason; whether we like it or not.

I think TheFez is right on. Your scores are low; the percentiles are really low, too. You might want to check with some of the programs you're thinking about applying to -- if you can get information about what average GRE scores look like for accepted students, you can work toward a tangible goal for your next set of scores, rather than just hoping to do "better."

Good luck!
