citychild Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 It seems most of the Southern California schools require the GRE. Does anyone know of any that do not? The GRE is a huge barrier for me in terms of cost & time (I have 5 p/t jobs) but I don't want to shut the CA application door just yet. I was also considering San Francisco but I'd like to do the Macro track but it appears it's inactive due to funds but that's unclear.
LeavingLV Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 No, most of them don't! The only ones that I know of that require it are UCLA, SDSU and Berkeley. Most of the other Cal State schools do not require the GRE. From my research, the following do not: CSULA CSULB CSUDH (Suggest if GPA is 3.0) CSU Northrige (Only require if GPA is under 3.0) SFSU SJSU CSU- East Bay Sacramento State I know there are several more schools in California, but those are just the ones I have looked into. Also, yes the macro track at SFSU is inactive. Really the only other macro tracks I have seen are SDSU, Berkeley and Dominguez Hills. But if you go on the CSWE website, you can search for schools by concentration area so I could be missing some. Hope that helps!
