AllFiredUp Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 The big H is waiting to find out from the graduate school how many students they can admit this year. Things are more top-down with the recent hiring freeze.
k314 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 The big H is waiting to find out from the graduate school how many students they can admit this year. Things are more top-down with the recent hiring freeze. how many do they ordinarily take?
Billy1 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Thanks afu, but how long will it take em? Any ideas? I feel like getting in touch with Thom Wall, though he's such a nice guy I would feel bad about bothering him. But this is making me crazy. I probably won't even get in, I just want CLOSURE!
Billy1 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 You know it really sucks when the website goes down because I always think there is some news on the big H But there never is
plisar Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Billy, Harvard could be another couple of days. Unfortunately, those of us waiting are just going to have to be patient unless you want to e-mail the DGS. Plisar.
Billy1 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Fair pt plisar. If we have nothing by Friday though, I will certainly email. Good luck

bayer Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I emailed the Admissions Office yesterday, but I suppose they won't get back to me before the summer...This is nerve-wrecking.
catchermiscount Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 And then one of the security people, inspired by the muted twinkle of the glistening late winter snow outside his window or perhaps by his fabulous morning BM, informed them that the answer to this question is kindness. It was kindness all along.
Billy1 Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 I understand none of what you've just said man

Billy1 Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Plisar can you enlighten me on what that means?
catchermiscount Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I understand none of what you've just said man Kindness, Billy1. Random acts of kindness. It goes without saying that the clouds are darkening, swirling with the fervor of uncertainty and gloom. Those depraved souls lacking in the particular brand of chutzpah required to weather the storm, those craven ingenues, those quivering neophytes that question the existence of the light -- it is they that would do best to listen to the sage advice of a salty old dog whose yelp is equal parts scar and saave. That voice, diminutive yet full of sound and fury, is the only source of the light. And it is whispering: Kindness.
Billy1 Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Shouldn't you be on the MFA Creative Writing part of the site?
catchermiscount Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Shouldn't you be on the MFA Creative Writing part of the site? Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurn!
plisar Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Papa bear, I always knew you missed your true calling. Maybe I can join the MFA movement in polisci, if I may: Calm before the storm, Harvard prepares to crush dreams, We will know soon, shush! Hmm, maybe I have a knack for this Haiku thing.
AllFiredUp Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The stress is finally breaking some folks. This is serious, people. :|
