manilowese Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 To the person who was wait-listed at Brandeis: Do you know if the entire history department has selected & notified those being accepted/wait-listed? Or is this only American History? I applied for the Comparative History program but haven't heard anything yet. :|
jfree Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I'm not sure exactly who is being contacted. I received an email from a professor I had been in touch with this morning, so I'm not sure if there is a more official email or letter on the way or not. Keep the faith!
John_E Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I applied there too. Haven't heard anything. Contextually, this year is out of the ordinary for them. Bernie Madoff stole a lot of their money. They are selling their art museum. The economy isn't helping. So funding has some challenges.
manilowese Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 I saw that another person was contacted and accepted for american history. congrats. i'm still crossing my fingers for a spot in the comparative history program.
MDLee Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I saw that another person was contacted and accepted for american history. congrats. i'm still crossing my fingers for a spot in the comparative history program. Crossing my fingers for ya! I almost applied to the same program at Brandeis...but went with an app to Brown instead (they were both outrageously expensive as I recall it and I felt my shot at either was pretty slim...but Brown still has my app so maybe not that slim?). Brandeis is a good school--and the comparative history program is growing even with the slow economy so I'm sure they're considering you if they still have your app.
manilowese Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 Thanks, everybody. Yeah, i hope they're still considering me. I still haven't heard anything. I'm just waiting patiently. Or as patiently as possible anyways. :?
manilowese Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 to the person who submitted the American History rejection. it said via email. did they contact you or did you email them first?
manilowese Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 i received an admission offer today! that was a surprise!
