gradschoolgimp Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 What's the easiest program to get into that offers full funding and a stipend? I know a phd is rigorous and trying all that. I'm not flippantly considering applying. I'm just curious about options, theoretically speaking. What are the easiest subjects to get into and easiest schools to get into that offer full funding in this program? kaykaykay, sareth, comp12 and 2 others 5
cajunmama Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Or engineering. At my uni, there's usually enough projects to fund everyone.
emmm Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 But although they are most likely to have funding, it cannot be assumed they'll be easy to get into (and OP is asking for both). In fact, perhaps because they are funded, they can be extremely competitive fields. kaykaykay and sareth 2
kaykaykay Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I thought the second poster made a joke. Anyway theoretically speaking there may be some fields that are easier to get into than others, and there may be some fields that are easier to get funding. BUT in Phd acceptances your preparation is key so this theoretical comparison does not make any sense. Eg. who knows maybe it is easier(?) to get into engineering with funding but boy you have to have adequate math training , lab experience, etc... even to apply. So at the end it is not so easy. comp12 1
ghanada Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 if you seriously don't even have a major in mind for which you would do a PhD in, you should not do a PhD comp12 1
amandacarol1215 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I don't think you should choose a PhD program based on what is easiest to get into. It should be something you love and want to work for, otherwise it will be a waste of both your and everyone else's time and money. amandacarol1215 1
anthropologygeek Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Forgot to put into my comment you need a bs in the field you go into for hard sciences which isn't easy to do. But one you do, there's so many universities with so many spots I would say it's easiest. But then again a lot of the programs wil, lead to jobs you could of gotten with a bs
PhoenixM Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Don't think easy. Think quality and passion. The last being the most important.
