Is anyone here a current student or former student of this program? I'm currently a Masters student in Mechanical Engineering and I am interested in applying to Columbia for a Ph.D. though I wanted to know a little more about the program. I did not do so well as an undergraduate, but thus far as a Masters student I've done quite well. Will my succes in a graduate program help my chances of acceptance?

Yes, if you could give us insight into your credentials, anything special you did, and dates of different communications with Columbia, it would be much appreciated. They are my top choice and I haven't heard back. Most people haven't heard back yet so I suppose I'm being extra-special-neurotic!
