cydonia Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Hi, I got 143/163 verbal/quant in the general GRE. I could have done a lot better but I screwed up the examination completely because of lack of familiarity with the software. I didn't practice well using the powerprep. I am giving it again. However I wanted to know that on the face value how bad is this score if I am aiming for theoretical physics in Princeton University. How badly will this score affect my application, given that other scores (GPA=4, Physics GRE~950+, etc...) are decent enough! Thank you.
tyther Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) From what I have read,ad comms only use GRE and GPA for cut offs. So as long as your score is high enough to reach those cut off, having a higher score does not really help your application. Also a low GRE score can easily be overlooked if you have great LoRs and research experience. Edited August 28, 2012 by tyther
