Only Berkeley-UCSF's and JHSU's CBID masters programs have interviews.

Also, you will still be waiting a little while before you hear anything. Duke released their decision end of February last year. Berkeley started the interviews in late February too. Final decisions by Berkeley and other bioE schools were in mid March.

yes Purdue has a PhD program in Biomedical Engineering (separate from Bioengineering which is in the MechE department)

I am interviewing with one of the professors this week.

UCSF/Berkely is out. I did not get an email. So sad.

Some decisions for Cornell have been released!! ****stoked***

I'm still waiting on: Caltech, Pitt, UCSD, and UW

Stats: 3.90 gpa at UCSD, good LORs, 6mo solid research, sweet senior design project, GRE - Q159/V158/A4.5

Anyone else apply to Carnegie? It seems like they're off the grid in terms of interviews and acceptances, results page doesn't show much either...

I applied and got accepted on 1/25. Carnegie's visiting week is 2/21-2/23

I also applied to Columbia, UTexas, UMich, UWisconsin, Northwestern, and UPenn.

I haven't heard back from any of these.

I heard back from UWisconsin last week, and Michigan a couple of weeks ago.  Nothing from Columbia though :-/

UWashington anyone? I've been seeing rejections and interviews trickle in all day, but haven't heard anything myself...

I'm also still waiting on UWashington. The rolling decisions are painful haha.

You get any funding for PhD? I'm getting worried I haven't heard back from them yet it's one of my top choices. Hopefully they send them out in waves.

Haven't heard back from anyone (positively) so far (applying for Masters in BioE/BME)

Did receive rejections from UCSD and UW within the last week though =/

Just received the rejection letter from MIT....wasn't too surprising considering invites had been trickling out over the past few weeks. I'm hoping that the rejections are sent out on a rolling basis and not the case where the worst rejections were sent out first haha. Haven't heard back from any other schools so far.

Yeah they said 4 and 1/2 yrs of stipend and tuition....

If I haven't heard from UMich or UWisc yet, is it a pretty good chance of rejection?!?!?!?

Here's some notification dates I got last year to hopefully help you guys out. Basically, you won't get rejection letters until pretty late. I think my app was borderline at all my schools so mine might have come especially late. I think it is fairly safe to assume that if you don't get an interview/acceptance by mid February, you will be getting rejected later on. I can also tell you that UMich has 2 interview weekends, one in Feb. and one in March. So if you haven't gotten invited yet, you might get an invite for March.

Rejection notices:

UPitt - NEVER RECEIVED!! what a bunch of jerks...

CCNY 5/10

Duke 4/9

Brown 4/6

JHU 3/28

UCLA 3/15

Northwestern 2/27

MIT 2/16

UMinn 2/10

UW in Seattle 2/8

UCSD 2/8

Stanford 2/6

UPenn 2/2

Interview notices:

Columbia 2/15, accepted 3/21

Acceptance notices (no interviews):

BU 2/3

Ditto Ghanada - my rejections didn't come until after march, well after people had heard about interviews.  If you didn't get an interview and others have, you're probably not getting in.  Sorry :(

Also, you guys are using the results page, right?

Hi All! Just thought I'd throw in my two cents.

UGrad GPa: 3.8

GRE: 166 Q, 162 V

Research: Almost two years in tissue engineering lab, one published poster and presentation. Two summer REU's

Applying to BME PhD programs at:

Duke, Upenn, WashU, Carnegie, RPI, Cornell, Case, UVA, UMich,

So far I've been accepted to Carnegie, WashU, RPI

Interviews: Duke

Rejections: None (so far)

I'm really interested in Upenn and was wondering if anyone has heard anything back yet? I've read it should be around now otherwise not at all, so I'm starting to get a little nervous!

Thanks and good luck to all!

I got an email from UPenn today.

They're really upfront about which professors are open to accepting grad students for next year. I'm not sure yet if I will go to the interview because a lot of the faculty I was interested in aren't recruiting... Lots of neuroengineering and radiology faculty are recruiting, though, if you're interested in that.

So someone posted that he/she was accepted to the BME PhD program at Columbia. Did I miss something or did Columbia send out interview invites already?

Hmmm this does seem strange, I thought that Columbia did interviews before they accept people but I haven't seen anything about interviews at all.

Columbia definitely does interviews as they are purely on a "match-based" system (unless something has changed since last year). Last year, they sent interview invites around Feb 15th. I know international students aren't invited out for the interview weekend as they do phone/skype interviews. So my guess is that person that posted might be international. The interview weekend should be early/mid March.

On a side note, Columbia's interview weekend is one of the funnest/nicest ones I have been to. I highly recommend going if you get an invite.

@sassypants - If you want to know anything about UMich (faculty, the program, the city, etc) feel free to message me. I'm guessing UMich might not be a top choice seeing your other options, but I can't speak highly enough about how awesome the program is. And I am from Cali and very familiar with the reputations of all the top schools there, but still find UMich to be fantastic and just as good as those programs. Also, I am going to be around for a lot of the fun stuff during the interview weekend and will most likely meet you at some point.

Well it looks like Columbia is a little early this year. Couple of interview invites posted in the results section. Anyone know if they send out invites in waves?
